Kitchen

In the recent years, Kafkárna realized a series of events in which collective cooking was both a way of connecting people through a shared activity and also an occasion to open critical questions linked to it. We want to continue in organizing these collective dinners and focus more on building an intergenerational community by joining different social bubbles at one shared table. As part of our community program, with the kitchen and long dining table at its heart, we have worked together over the years to build a cooking space - constructing an indoor and outdoor kitchen, a pergola, a long table, or a pizza oven. We have discussed social and environmental issues related to cooking and even published a printed cookbook called “Feast” which included academic and artistic texts, as well as delicious vegetable recipes. We intend to continue this focus by addressing more current socio-political issues, and deepening the strength of our community through cooking together, lectures, and food-related art performances.
