Ruta Putramentaite – Kafkárna – Lifehouse: Imaginary Strategies for Survival with the Earth Workshop on climate complexity and fiction creation as a form of collective resilience

The workshop explores ways to emotionally ground ourselves in the context of the environmental crisis and its possible consequences for humanity, and asks what tools we need to survive on/with Earth. It offers strategies for imagining environmental fiction of the future, in which characters live in drastically changed environments and social systems. What may seem dystopian to us is their everyday reality, in which they are embedded and act in order to survive. Building collective resilience in this case can mean creating supportive community systems as well as radically transforming our relationship with non-human nature.

The workshop thus connects the theme of the climate crisis, working with imagination, and developing the basic skills necessary for survival. It strives for a deeper understanding of the near future's complex challenges and the awakening of an active attitude.
